For whom?
The specialization “ Pedagogy of social / social support and family support ” is a response to the growing demand in society for professional, substantive and practical help in the field of education, counseling and proper functioning of the family in everyday life.
The specialization “ Pedagogy of social / social support and family support ” is a proposal for people who, with their actions and skills, want to support the basic social unit, which is the family, and to prevent pathological phenomena.
Knowledge and competences
You will gain knowledge in the field of pedagogy, education, contemporary sociological and psychological phenomena related to family life; you will learn about family and guardianship law, the principles of family counseling, learn how to create and implement projects in the field of family support and preventive activities. You will also learn the working methods of a family specialist, social probation officer and family mediator. You will gain the ability to work with your family in a crisis, to communicate in a spirit of non-violent understanding and to effectively resolve conflict situations.

You will gain the ability to work with people from different backgrounds and with experts supporting the family, including psychologists, therapists and social workers.
You will learn the rules of creating and implementing national and international projects dedicated to the family.
Due to the extensive cooperation of Collegium Balticum with institutions involved in supporting the family, you will be able to undergo valuable, substantive internships in institutions with which you may want to work after graduation.
Work for a graduate
A graduate of 1st degree pedagogy in the field of pedagogy of social / social support and family support will be prepared to work in governmental and non-governmental organizations supporting the family (such as: municipal family support centers, foundations), in family counseling centers, care and education, family-type facilities, shelters for victims of violence, adoption centers and other facilities supporting the family. The graduate will also be able to work as a social probation officer, family assistant or participant in governmental and non-governmental activities in the field of preventing pathology in the family.
